Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DE&I)

Since Gobu Associates' inception, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) has guided our firm's operations. At Gobu Associates, we know and understand the significance of DE&I, in and out of the workplace, and work with an unwavering desire to continue learning. Our CEO and Founder, Maurice (Mo) Toueg, is a gay man and was born with two genetic diseases. He formed Gobu in honor of his late father, who was a physician and survived time in a concentration camp in Egypt during the 60s. His mother is 82 and remains a full-time professor. Mo's parents' varied experiences and continuous integrity plays a foundational role in Gobu Associates' commitment to DE&I.

Gobu Associates prides itself on building a diverse workforce internally. We have 100 years of collective experience, and 80% of our team members are diverse, providing us with a unique outlook.

During Mo's more than 25-year career, he has made hundreds of placements, ranging from C-Suites to middle management and junior support roles across finance, strategy, operations, and transformation functions.

Gobu Associates also places a high premium on DE&I when evaluating candidates for our clients, which include marquee public companies in the Fortune 1000, private companies, and PE/VC backed companies. We define diverse attributes as minority characteristics related to race, color, religion or belief, national, social or ethnic origin, sex, age, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity and/or expression. Gobu Associates does not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on any of these characteristics, pregnancy, military service, or any other status protected by laws or regulations in candidate evaluation.

Year over year, since the founding of Gobu Associates, we have continually increased our number of diverse placements and are especially proud of this accomplishment. For more information, please visit a list of our marquee placements or our home page.
