Maurice Toueg: Founding Member of GOBU ASSOCIATES

GOBU Associates

Core Beliefs

At Gobu Associates, we believe in diversity and inclusion as part of our values in working with both clients and candidates. The founding member of the firm, Maurice (Mo) Toueg, is a proud member of the LGBTQ community and during his 27 years of search he has proudly placed candidates of all backgrounds and cultures.

As the CEO of a major investment bank recently commented, diversity is one of his primary goals at all levels. To put that as a priority speaks volumes to how the firm operates.

Gobu Associates will follow in the same pattern, passionate about a commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.

About The Founder

Mo founded Gobu Associates in July 2019 after working for two boutique search firms for 21 years. Mo had a revelation that you only live once and coming from a family of entrepreneurs on both the maternal and paternal sides of his family, he decided it was time to form his own firm.

Mo focuses within the CFO and COO's offices of Fortune 1000, private equity-backed companies, venture capital-backed companies, management consulting firms, equity research roles, and investment banks. He has worked across every industry.

His specialties include business development, business transformation, corporate development, corporate finance, equity research, investor relations, management consulting, and strategic planning. He works domestically and globally.

During his tenure in search, Mo has placed hundreds of candidates, many of whom have gone on to move into the C-Suite of Fortune 500 companies and private equity/venture capital firms.

Although most of Mo’s candidates have advanced degrees, he does work at more junior levels, specifically with consultants and bankers who are looking to transition outside of professional services.

As a native New Yorker, Mo attended Columbia University and received a degree in Economics. Although New York will always be "home," Mo loves being an official Florida resident, especially being two miles from the beach. He loves enjoying his condo pool, making new friends, trying new restaurants, and exploring Marlins games. Perhaps he will learn to golf next! He also enjoys spoiling his nephews. He has served on committees and boards on various charities including FACES (Finding a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures) and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
